The Digital Kirlian Photography book project is an updating of my original DIY Kirlian photography book that used sheet film. This book will detail the construction of equipment needed to take beautiful kirlian photographs using digital cameras and image processing.

The funds will support the development of the equipment builds and instructions.

Once the image is created it (can) become a hand made process. Which will be one or more chapters in my new book. Image transfers, to wood, paper, metals and glass. Also depressing images to make it look more handmade.

This book bridges the gap between the science of Kirlian photography and art, and we are interested in making art.

A bit more on Kirlian Photography history- While many people who experimented with Kirlian photography in the 1970's made extraordinary claims, like the phantom leaf, and human bio-plasma energy body.  I have never made any claim that Kirlian photography has shown anything paranormal.  Although, the phantom leaf phenomena has been reported by a number of people, including scientists.

 To date, the corona discharge can be explained by employing known physical laws, like changes in a subject’s skin resistance due to factors such as stress, lying, illness, fatigue, alcohol consumption, etc., without the necessity of invoking paranormal (bio-plasma) factors. 

The new book will provide plans and construction details to build a variety of devices for capturing Kirlian images. From simple Kirlian cameras that can be built for $50.00, to more sophisticated low lux video and CCD astronomical elements.
