About this project
We are trying to organize to get ourselves and others in Houston, TX to the National Equality March in
Washington, DC during the weekend of October 10 - 11. The march's single demand is full equality for all LGBT people in all matters governed by state and federal law.
So genuine full equality. You can find out more here: http://nationalequalitymarch.com/. The was called by Cleve Jones who was a protege of Harvey Milk. We feel this is an historic time in the
struggle for gay liberation and feel it would be a very powerful statement to get people
from Texas to DC.
We are planning to rent three 15 passenger vans. Each van will cost us $1500. All money will go towards the vans and getting as many people there as we can. If we get more money, we will get more vans!
We are planning other fundraisers here in town but thought kickstarter.com would be an excellent way to let people who believe in the goal but could not go to DC help to get others there.
Every amount helps so please help us take part in this amazing event!
