Concept ~ Starlight is a sculptural lighting installation for Burning Man 2012. Seven eleven foot diameter star lights will map out the constellation Orion on the playa creating a "heaven on earth" effect. If the ancient Egyptians did it with pyramids, why can't we do it with stars?

Configuration  ~ The layout of the stars is 230' x 115'.  Many smallish objects define a large area and create a sense of place. 

Construction  ~  We are currently under construction.  The stars are made of fir framing lumber, marine plywood  and steel piping. Each star will be covered with a unique pattern cut into it's skin which lights up at night.

Costs  ~   Costs for the entire project hover around $5000.  Money donated beyond the $2500 goal will be used to cover materials and swag costs. No donated money will be spent on labor, transportation or tools.

Where and When  ~   Three stars will be present at LARC near Conway Washington for Critical Massive July 16th through July 22nd, 2012.  All seven stars will be present at Black Rock City for Burning Man, August 27th through September 3rd, 2012.
