In New York City, stories of homelessness and a view of life after the fact.
“At Home” is a documentary film that explores the issues of homelessness and health care inequality through the stories of people who have lived on the streets. The film is a collaboration between experienced film makers and mental health providers. Our team includes a psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse, and case worker.
“At Home” makes use of in-depth interviews to highlight the lives of four unique individuals ranging from a visually-impaired PhD roboticist to a classically-trained pianist. They each went from living on the streets of New York City to living in their own apartments. By drawing attention to their successes, “At Home” will expose the viewer to thought-provoking stories which often go unheard.
