About this project

We will post updates and videos of the games as the experiment goes on!

Our goal is to create five (5) unique XBOX Live Indie Games over the course of five weeks (one (1) game per week). Every seven days we will start from scratch and take a game concept from an idea to completion by the end of the week, ultimately submitting it to the Creator's Club for review. After it is approved (approval time DOES NOT factor in to our one week goal), you will be able to purchase it on your XBOX (if you donate, you could get up to all five games free!).

The scheduled five (5) week experiment will start as soon as the pledge amount in the upper right hand corner passes $500. The following Monday, the experiment will begin. We will continue to take donations until the countdown clock reaches 0 days.

The challenge of creating a video game is a rewarding one, by allowing ourselves only seven days to create a game, we hope to find a balance between simplicity and fun. Hopefully, what we learn from our experience can be used to create bigger, more expansive games.

This project won't work without some sort of penalty. If we do not meet the deadline for one of the games, that specific idea will be abandoned, and will we have to start working on another game, therefore adding another week to our schedule. We can fail up to five times before we've failed ourselves miserably and the experiment is over. Don't fret, the games won't be lost forever, we will make it our mission to finish them, just not at super, breakneck speed. Everyone will still get the same amount of games that correspond to your donation amount, you may even get to choose from more than just five!

Because XBOX LIVE Indie Games gives us only 50 free tokens for each game, we have to limit our rewards so that everyone is guaranteed a free game. As a backup, once all the rewards in a specific donation amount are claimed, we will add an alternative reward at the same dollar amount that comes with everything minus the free games. We hope that you donate not only to get some cool games, but to help impact and improve our future projects.

The Zero Counts is a developer of independent games and stuff. We are a rapidly expanding studio now consisting of a whopping two guys (Dan and Joey Rodriguez). With degrees in video game development and film we hope to make games our way and distribute them through open-ish platforms such XBOX LIVE Indie Games, PC, and the iTunes App Store.
