Rough Shop is completing the recording, mixing, mastering and production of our long-awaited fourth album, "Beneath the South Side Bridge."
With one week left in our first Kickstarter, we have hit our goal of $2500.
We thank each and every one of you who has backed us so far!
We didn't know what to expect when we began this project. We set a modest goal and we are thrilled to have reached it.
But, to tell the truth, our goal of $2500 will cover less than a third of the costs to make "Beneath the South Side Bridge."
We believe it's our best record to date. It sounds and looks amazing -- and it's worth every penny. But those pennies add up.
Here are the numbers. This is what it takes to make a beautiful, self-produced record:

So while we have met our goal, we still need you.

P.S. As a band, we believe in the power of music. We frequently do benefits in our hometown of St. Louis, and we want this new album to make a difference in our community. So, we'll be donating half the profits from the first pressing of the new record to the St. Louis Area Foodbank, a 501c3 non-profit organization in St. Louis that does amazing work.

Rough Shop is a band from St. Louis. Members include: Andy Ploof, Anne Tkach, John Wendland and Spencer Marquart, with our good friend Jon Parsons regularly joining us on keyboards. We've been together for seven years.

We have been working on our fourth album, "Beneath the Southside Bridge," for over a year. It's a been a long, rewarding and expensive process. Total costs for making this record are $8,200, and we have no label funding or venture capitalist moguls to support us. That's where Kickstarter comes in. Every dollar pledged to this project will cover the money we have already invested in an album we truly believe in.

Rough Shop is a band from St. Louis, featuring principal songwriters John Wendland and Andy Ploof, formerly of One Fell Swoop, along with the voice and bass of Anne Tkach, a veteran of both Hazeldine and Nadine, and a current member of Magic City. Together they perform as an acoustic trio and as an electric outfit featuring Spencer Marquart on drums. The band is currently completing its fourth album, "Beneath the South Side Bridge."
