The film is done and in the can! But we have a big problem....

Sound!!!!!

The sound really needs professional help. This film had no budget. All cast and crew worked for free and invested into this project solely because they believed in it. This Kickstarter project is to polish it off and make it the best it can be. After seeing the film, educators and social workers have expressed great interest in owning a copy of the film to show in classes and workshops around the state. We want to make that happen. But we need your help! You can share this project with your family and friends, post it on your Facebook wall, tweet it and send it out into the world however you see fit! We appreciate any and all ways you can help!

THE INSPIRATION Domestic violence has affected us all. In Oklahoma, there were more than 23,000 reports of domestic violence in 2008, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. And earlier this year Oklahoma was announced to rank 9 in the nation for women killed by men. We are number 1 in the nation for the incarceration of women. The stories of violence, threats of violence, and death related to domestic violence in Oklahoma go on and on. The film "1 in 3" was born out of the mind of a domestic violence shelter worker and filmmaker. She has spent over 6 years in the field of social work and has seen the incident numbers rise and the women and children fall through the cracks. "1 in 3" is domestic violence from a social workers point of view.

THE PLAN We are going to use $3,000 to invest in post-sound ADR and mixing. We also need $1,000 to secure music rights. We will also use the money for your nifty incentives like t-shirts and the fun stuff you are getting for helping us make this film the best it can be! From here we will also work to get small distribution with an education film company or an independent film distributor. And don't forget, 5% of the funds raised through Kickstarter will go to them.

HOW KICKSTARTER WORKS It's pretty ingenious, really. You can pledge how much you would like to help out 1 in 3. You will not be charged until we meet our goal, which is set at $7,000. In the unfortunate case that the film does not meet it's goal, you will not be charged. Project creators see your Kickstarter username, your pledge amount, and the reward you've selected, if applicable. Donations can come from the anywhere in the world, not just the U.S. If funding succeeds we'll also give project creators your email address. But we know we can do it with your help! WHERE IS MY MONEY GOING? Kickstarter (a non-profit fyi) takes 5% of the funds raised. The rest goes completely to the film! 1 in 3 is an official LLC, so our company bank account is hooked up to this project. Every penny will go directly to the film.
