Become part of the construction of Burning Man 2012!

There is one powerful constant of Burning Man's Black Rock City: That for seven days out of the year participants are able to create an oasis from the sun and dust out of nothing to shelter us from the weight of the real world.

This year the Black Rock Disc Golf club is determined to take the seeds of that wonder and plant it in the fertile ground of this community. Our project is one of magic and imagination, speaking to a tactile environment that one can climb in, play in, and challenge oneself with. For the third year that we have featured a camp-made disc golf course, we decided that we wanted nothing less than a fairy's home, a Smurf's playground: a Mushroom Forest. 

Featuring half a dozen 12-foot tall mushrooms, we are offering a unique shade space, a new spectacle on 2:00 and G, and a relaxing way to spend the day or night.  Play on a proper disc golf course, incorporating new and improved baskets and nine holes of dog legs and narrow wins.

With three 12-13 foot mushrooms already created, your donation would offer us the ability to create three more mushrooms of the same height, offering a respite from the sun, and a wonderland to lose, or find, oneself amidst the fabric of our disc golf course.

Nitty Gritty: Transportation has been coordinated. Three 12 foot mushrooms are already completed. We will beautify a course with a variety of other sized mushrooms/ lights/ and art to be constructed and donated by camp members.

What we want!!: At least three more 12 foot mushrooms to compliment the first three. If we are able to create 5,000 dollars beyond the $4,500 goal that we have set with this project we will be able to create a 30 foot climbable mushroom to give us a vantage point on 2:00 and G! If we are able to create a total of $10,000 beyond our $4,500 goal, we will be able to create two 30 foot climbable mushrooms, complete with a slack line (with safety line!) connecting the two, offering a new climbing adventure for Playa folk!

This year it is our goal to make the most unique disc golf course on the planet more than an empty space, but a forest for both the casual wanderer, and the technical disc golfer. Whether it be day or night, we want to invite you to light up the forest... Glow amongst our luminescent mushrooms, and see if you are par for the course!

We invite you to bring your inner child to the reaches of your pupils, as you explore, play, or challenge yourself on our disc golf course. We invite you to take the experience of creating Burning Man and Black Rock City as a privilege and source of pride.
