The Story

I decided to write this book based on my family's journey with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I feel that there is not enough awareness out there about the everyday life of a person with RA.  RA is not just an elderly disease.  When I was growing up my grandfather would come and watch me play softball but he would watch from the car.  He always walked with a cane from the time I can remember, but I never knew the full extent of the reasons why until my husband was diagnosed with RA.

Inside the book

The book was illustrated by the fabulous Amy Rottinger. We worked together to bring this true life story to life. My Husband and my son were the inspiration for this book. Both of them love to be outdoors, especially to go for a walk in the park. Quickly, it was easy to find not only the focus for the book, but the illustrations that would follow. This story, written from the perspective of a young boy, follows the daily struggles of RA when raising a child.
