We are Black Box Design Group, a team of students and young professionals currently located in sunny Savannah, Georgia. Black Box is a small design firm that prides itself on offering a diverse range of both talent and applications. Along with taking client work, we spend much of our time incubating our own ideas, concepts, products, and services into fruition.

To protect the world from an epidemic of water rings?... Sort of. Ultimately, we are concerned with forging good clean design with small scale local manufacturing and having some fun while doing it. The French Toasters project, admittedly, started out as a bit of a joke centered around our famed french bulldog Spock. The coasters soon became excellent conversation pieces and we got lots of individual requests we couldn't fill at the time. Now we are turning to the kickstarter community to help us put in a full production run.

The Classic:
This project's standard design. It features a dark wood french bull dog inlayed into a light wood piece of toast. We are offering this design in a variety of quantities.

The Tricolor: 
Show your Frenchie pride. This set features blue, white, and red dogs inlayed into light wood pieces of toast. 

The Vintage: 
One white and one black Frenchie inlayed into light wood pieces of toast. 

Custom:
We are also offering a limited run of custom options. Check them out on the right!

All of our coasters measure approximately four inches square and are just over an eighth of an inch thick (we think it's the perfect coaster thickness). The coasters feature three layers of precision laser cut birch wood. Once assembled, all our coasters are sealed for protection against liquids and have a satin finish. The completed coaster then gets a thin layer of cork backing to protect your very best piece of furniture.

The funds will be used to place a large quantity order of materials from our suppliers. Also, as stated before, the coasters are being produced entirely in house, so the size of this project from Kickstarter will allow us to allocate our machine time towards the French Toaster coaster project. You have the satisfaction of knowing that great people with a passion for design and craft are creating your rewards.
