An unbiased look into the controversial statute known as "Stand Your Ground."
In the wake of recent activity involving the controversial "Stand Your Ground" law, there comes a short subject documentary that seeks to examine the very nature of this dubious institution. Stand Your Ground is a film that sets out to fully understand the terms of this law and how they affect us as a community.
We're just some normal people from Florida (alright... maybe not normal) who want to make a difference by spreading a little knowledge and making a film that's honest. Sick of one-sided arguments, we're out to expose the truth by creating a transparent depiction of this highly disputed mandate. We want to bring people answers! By viewing this film, we want to give you the information needed to make a conclusion. One that separates fact from fiction and cuts through the confusion. (pardon the rhyme)
All of this is to be done from an unbiased perspective, never falling victim to various pressures that arise from any one political leaning, case, person, news network, or third party. This film will objectively examine the suspect "Stand Your Ground" ordinance and expose the true views of the opponents and advocates surrounding it. The film aims to flesh out the many factors involved in this complicated case, good or bad. After witnessing the interviews, the evidence, and the honest facts surrounding this public debate, we want you to be able to make a fully informed decision as to what is just, ethical, right and wrong. The voices of politicians, supporters, protesters, and people just like you will come together in this honest portrayal of the widely debated law.
The Purpose of the Cash Needed to Make the Film with the Perspective
With the help of so many people, please join us in making this film a reality. To effectively deliver this revealing exposé, we are going to need $4,000. This is the absolute minimum required to fund the project. We would love to have an even bigger budget to work with, as the film could be that much greater! The following is a simple breakdown of where the cash will go:
- Equipment: camera, sound, lighting, etc.
With any extra dough (which would be SO awesome), we could hire someone to color correct the film. With this done, we could use the leftover cash to submit our movie to film festivals everywhere!
Where We Are and Where We are Going
Right now, you could say that we're super anxious to rap up this pre-production phase of planning, and ready to begin production. As soon as the project is funded, we will start shooting right away! We hope to release the finished film by September and launch it into the film festival circuit. We also want to bring this film to as many venues as possible, getting much needed exposure.
We sincerely appreciate your support and know that without you, none of this is possible. So please, tell your friends, tell your Facebook friends (even that one guy you met at a party, but don't know very well), tell your family, tell organizations, tell anyone who might be interested! Thanks so much for your support!
