In this documentary, we are going to do Comedy open mics from LA to NY, in search of jokes, crazy characters and The American Dream.
This movie will be an epic journey across America from city to city, open mic to open mic. Open mics are how comedians craft material. They can be fun, and they can be brutal. Open Mics are exactly what they sound like: they are open to anybody to do anything within a time slot. Mics vary in environment and clientele. It is a circus of comedy, desperation, insanity and late night drink specials. Stepping onto an open mic stage can be the loneliest place in the world. It can also be the most wonderful place of triumph.
We will explore why people laugh and why somebody would choose to make other laugh people as a career. We will chart territory across our country much like Lewis & Clark laid their trail and much like Jack Kerouac blazed his. We will walk the boulevards and the underground alike and see what the difference is between them. We are asking you to be an essential and valued part of our epic journey to New York.
