The bottle looks small but there's quite a bit in it. Used it on a couple dinners now so around 8 burgers + 4 hot dogs and it's about half gone. Haven't used it sparingly but just slathering it on. So I'd say the bottle size is big enough for what I pledged.
The only complaint I can really think of is that it tastes exactly like a dipping sauce a burger chain has used here in Sweden for years (Hot Creole at Max Hamburgerrestauranger AB). But I like that dipping sauce so I'm also fine with it :) .
My biggest wish is that the bottles you could buy off their site were larger since the shipping cost adds a lot when you live outside North America.

Hey TSBS - I'm happy with the sauce, but kind of unhappy with the size! I thought we'd be getting the one in the picture on the kickstarter. I guess I never checked the updates because I can see now there's a picture of the production line and all the smaller bottles are there... but yeah, I just wanted to comment on that.

Received my sauce today in Australia. I was just wondering if anyone else has had one of their bottles opened? One of my bottles had plastic around the cap whilst the other one didn't. When I unscrewed the lid, the seal had also been lifted. I'm not going to use this bottle because of this.

I thought perhaps it was opened by customs, however the box doesn't look like it had been opened or resealed and there's no Australian customs stamp or anything on the box.

Also, I didn't pay postage on my pledge (noted in survey) so I figured I would have received payment info or something before they shipped the sauce. Perhaos I missed an email or something?

Got the sauce in the other day, I will say it is really good. I think myself like a few others feel a little let down at the size of the bottle. In your picture you show a fairly large burger and a bottle that towers over it. Now we all know thats not a production bottle but, in my mind I thought I'd be getting something comparable. I'd probably continue to pay $10 per bottle for the stuff if it was twice the size of what we were given. A standard bottle of salad dressing or BBQ sauce is 16 - 18 oz and much much cheaper than what we paid here. Now I understand that a large portion of that cost went to shipping costs, probably half, and thats why I'm fine paying the higher price. I feel like the sauce can't cost much to make, I just wonder why you decided to go with the 9oz bottle, how much would your production costs have increased for a 16oz bottle?

I'm not really understanding the negativity towards the cheaper online sales. Funding a project on Kickstarter, especially one that involves physical production (as opposed to a game or other digital product), means that you are more than likely shelling out more money for something than they might expect to sell it for if they were successful and went retail. You WANT them to be able to sell at retail for less -- why would you want them to continue selling their product for Kickstarter pledge amounts? If anything, we should be HAPPY that they are able to sell their sauce for cheaper than we pledged.

In addition, opening up orders on their site doesn't necessarily mean they're shipping out those orders before the backers'. There may be instances where someone ordering from the website might get theirs before a backer, but if I had to guess that would only really apply to international backers, who have to deal with long wait times and customs. Taking orders online is just another sign that they're doing well. And as someone who's already halfway through their single bottle, I'm glad that the option to do so exists!

That being said, I want to echo some of the other backers, re: the thinness of the sauce. I like to smother my burger with this stuff, and it's thin to begin with but the burger's heat makes it even more so, which can then sometimes result in a messy, drippy burger. If you could find an ingredient or thickening agent to give it more of a regular condiment consistency (like mustard), that would be awesome. Otherwise, don't change anything about the recipe. It's absolutely delicious.

Received my sauce about 1 week ago, made some burgers last night. The sauce has a good flavor, maybe a little watery. Also when opening the box I discovered such a small bottle. I thought I would be getting a much bigger bottle for $10. Your sauce is very good but I don't know if I can afford a $9 small bottle of sauce. Hopefully you can decrease your price soon.

I got my sauce. It is very tasty and I like it. I agree with Div3r5ity that it is slightly too watery.

Most of the complaints here are justified. We had every reason to expect a significantly larger bottle of sauce than we did. I did not support this project in order to wait longer and pay more for the sauce than the general public. I have bigger things to worry about than this so, but I don't consider this a "good" kickstarter.

It makes me think that kick-starter should have a post fulfillment satisfaction survey rating system. I would give a 4/10 in this case.

Received mine a few days ago and now it's gone. I used it on a burger but also as a dipping sauce for onion rings and some other things. I don't mind that it's being sold cheaper, people shouldn't think of Kickstarter as a storefront, it's a crowdfunding. You may have paid a bit more than you can now buy it for retail, but it wouldn't exist AT ALL if you hadn't backed it. Be proud you helped bring something into existence without the need for a small company to sell out to investment banking or a larger company.

I'll be ordering more (at the newer, lower, better retail pricing).

I agree, certainly disrespectful and borderline dishonest. I feel like they took our money to start production, sent us a much smaller bottle than promised (maybe 1/3 the size). Then insult us by selling it online cheaper and deliver sooner than the to initial backers. How is this OK with anybody? $10 for a tiny little bottle of sauce (over a buck an oz.). Very disappointed. This is the first kickstarter project I felt I was intentionally taken advantage of.

I don't think its that big of an issue that they are offering it cheaper after this project is over, and quite a few KS projects do the same. They need this influx of cash in the beginning just to start manufacturing it and the start up costs involved. But I do think its an issue when you start selling it elsewhere, before all your backers have received their product. I think that's a bit disrespectful. Compound that with other issues like using a smaller, different bottle then what we saw in the picture and long periods of lack of communication with us, makes me disappointed overall with Gotham Sauce Company. Great product though.

Received my bottle a day ago (WA State for those awaiting their bottles). I haven't had an opportunity to try it yet due to contracting the plague, but I am a little bummed out to read that the final product is being sold for cheaper than the original pledge.

I know that when bringing a product to market that things change, especially when deciding on price, but this really isn't something you should have let backers discover on their own.

Got 2 bottles few days ago in the mail. I didn't think I'd actually taste a difference between this and in n out burger sauce or McDonald's or any other but I did and really liked the taste. But I'm torn on between supporting you guys and ordering more or not. I feel like you guys really don't care about your backers who helped fund this project by nearly 5x your goal. I love KS and supporting other peoples dreams and goals but at the same time I feel those people then should be appreciative of the support they received.

First time seeing a Kickstarter project sell a product for cheaper than the backers backed for before all of the shipments have been completed.

That's just sad.....

Missing The OCTOBER delivery date is one thing, welcome to Kickstarter I guess where project creators aren't prepared to handle things that come up between the ending of the Kickstarter and fulfillment, But to start selling it before the backers even get their sauce? For less than what the backers paid no less?
