Pitch is a comedy about a movie executive struggling to keep his work life and private live separate. We need your help to get it seen!

Pitch is a short comedy about what happens when movies get a bit too personal. Pitch was shot in the fall of 2011 in Columbia, MO by a cast and crew of hard-working, passionate volunteers, many of them students at the new film school at the University of Missouri. The film was shot on weekends over the course of two months to accommodate the cast and crew's busy class schedules, and funded entirely out-of-pocket.

Pitch was made possible thanks to the boundless generosity of the volunteer cast and crew, along with several local Columbia businesses who donated food, costumes, props, locations and time to help make Pitch a reality. By donating, you aren't just helping Pitch get into festivals, you're also helping the burgeoning independent film scene in mid-Missouri by showing local businesses that supporting independent film is worth it.
Columbia, MO is quickly becoming a midwestern hot spot for independent filmmaking. It's the home of the annual True/False Film Festival, several small production studios, and three universities. Recently, the University of Missouri added a Film Studies major, and since then the local independent film scene has been steadily gaining steam.

The majority of funds will go toward getting the film seen. We plan on entering Pitch into as many film festivals as we can, which can get expensive fairly quickly. Even for short films, festival entry fees can run up to $30-$40 apiece. This doesn't include the cost of producing screener DVDs, postage, shipping materials, and other festival-specific costs that may arise. To put it simply, we've spent the last six months to a year working and worrying to get this film made, and we want as many people to see it as possible. If we surpass our goal, that just means we're going to find that many more festivals, big and small, to submit to.
A small portion of the funds will go toward paying back some of the people who helped make Pitch happen by paying for things like food and makeup out of their own pockets.
Part of the funding will go toward paying the bands and musicians who are graciously letting us license their songs for use in the film.
