We are a highly succesful online magazine (www.drunkenabsurdity.com) founded by alternative writer Adam Schirling that features the very best counter-culture, underground, and alternative literature, music, movies, art, and poetry from artists and writers all over the world. Due to such high demand, as well as nostalgia for counter-culture mags of the past, we wish to publish our very first print issue! However the cost of publishing a print magazine in a quality that our amazing contributors and readers deserve  is very high. We have tried raising capital from selling tshirts, posters, and stickers ( www.drunkenabsurdity.storenvy.com ), but we are falling far short of the minimum needed. The money will be spent on the cost of designing, printing, binding, and shipping our magazine all over the world! Drunken Absurdity came to existence due to my own experiences as an alternative writer trying to get work published in online and print magazines. For every one piece I would have published, 5 would be rejected for being too controversial or alternative in nature. To me that seemed wrong, and against the core principles of alternative lit. The more I met other writers and artists with the same story, the angrier I got. Finally, I decided to create a home for all the misfits in the undergroound lit and art scene. Most of us haven't been to art school or hold a Masters in Creative Writing. We are born of the same blood as Bukowksi, Kerouac, and Hunter Thompson. We love what we do, and deserve a platform to be heard on!
