Synopsis: Tornado Row fills the void in animated comedy. It picks up where the others leave off. Not the same old scene; it is a witty and edgy animated sitcom.
Meet the Blunders, a low income family living in a Midwestern trailer park smack dab in the middle of the tornado belt. Tornado Row is an apologue based around a single dad with a super hero persona, a psychotic grandmother living in a storm shelter under the trailer and his three children. A hot tempered 17 year old daughter, An over achieving 14 year old son that is the stereo typical “middle child”, a loveable 10 year old boy with hypersexual tendencies and the family dog. Tornado Row shamelessly and hilariously exploits the nothing sacred animated brand of sitcom with a fresh new look and attitude. It brings irreverent, iconoclastic plotlines, cutting-edge, borderline obscene dialogue, and wildly non sequitur pop-cultural references. Tornado Row brings dysfunction to a whole new level.
Character analysis:
Bert- Is a frumpy 235 pound single dad working a night shift job to provide for his family. He holds a janitorial position at a local mall and is usually under the influence of alcohol. Bert for the most part, is a good father but he tends to be short tempered and lashes out before thinking. He also suffers from delusions of identity. Bert occasionally becomes the self-created pseudo personality Toxic Man. In the form of the super hero, Bert sets out to do deeds of good, unfortunately for the people he tries to save, Toxic Man usually does more harm than good. He lives by the motto “you can’t save all the people all the time!”
Todd- Is the youngest son at 10 years old and is mentally challenged. Always happy and good natured, Todd has a high level of energy and requires full time care and attention. Todd is always getting into mischief of one kind or another and if his family isn't careful, he can quickly find himself in a ton of trouble. His sister Trish has to walk him daily so he will burn off extra energy. Todd has a bad habit of dry humping everybody and everything, even though he doesn't know what he is doing, it’s a habit that causes his family problems.
Trish- Is the daughter and at 17 she is sexy, smart, and hot tempered, Trish has been around the block more than most. She has no problem taking care of herself and is sometimes missing for days. Trish is usually asleep during the day and out during the night. Regular run ins with the law include- lewd and mischievous acts, possession, violent behavior, and resisting arrest. Easily getting money from men and disgust from woman, Trish is strong willed and very confident she comes out on top of any situation.
Jimmy- Is the oldest son and also goes by James, the Shark or the Boss. At 14 Jimmy has become a local loan shark tycoon by using his natural gift of hustle. Just about everyone owes debt to him in one way or another. Jimmy's empire has grown to such heights that he holds titles to trailers, cars and other personal effects of value. Jimmy is both clever and cunning; he is always two steps ahead of everybody. Protected by his henchman “granny”, Jimmy is the financial force of Tornado Row.
Granny- is the beast, plain and simple. Permanently locked in a protective mask due to biting issues, Granny is not to be reckoned with. Violent, well trained in martial arts and weaponry, Granny is the personal henchman for her grandson Jimmy. Living in a makeshift storm shelter under the family trailer, Granny is in charge of guarding all titles and collateral keeping the peace for the family. Unable to speak, she communicates through a series of grunts and growls. It is rumored that Granny was once a high ranking member of the mob striking fear in the heart of Tornado Row.
Poochez- Is the family dog he is the best of friends with Todd they share everything and mimic one another, they are inseparable. Even though Bert is always screaming at him, Jimmy’s trying to sell him, Granny’s trying to cook him and Trish is always trying to kick him he is still a devoted part of the family.
