work.place is a documentary of Portland creativity. It aims to understand creative processes & the places that contain them.
work.place is a documentary of studios, homes, and other interiors where art is made in Portland, Oregon. I started work.place as a way to explore how a space (the light, the way it is decorated, etc.) can affect how art is created and what kind of context it can give to the work, and now I am hoping to expand the project to include more makers in Portland.
As a photographer, I deeply feel that my medium is film, and using it makes the project very satisfying for me personally. I have been fortunate to find that by using a twin lens camera, the experiences I have with the people I photograph are richer and more personal (since I can converse while photographing and it feels more natural).
I am asking for funds to use for medium format film and for its development so that I can pick up the project where it has left off!

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Finding the right schedule for posting new artists and continuing a regular schedule of posts can be tricky - luckily the past has prepared me for launching the project in the way that I had hoped to do originally. I now feel more immersed in the Portland art community and will be able to photograph many individuals that I have in mind and will be able to utilize the web aspect of it with more clarity.
