About this project

"Building the Living Temple" is the working title of a nearly-completed book on the symbolism of the Masonic Working Tools. My aim with this work is to show other Masons some ways that we can really put those Tools to work in our lives, our Lodges and our communities. Each of these Working Tools bridges the divide between philosophical principles and practical, everyday actions.

I am using Kickstarter to raise the funds to independently publish this book. Again, the writing is nearly finished. The money raised will go toward formatting, art and other publishing expenses so as to get "Building the Living Temple" out as early as possible in the new year.

My name is Edward Pittman, and I was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason in Pearl of the West Lodge #146, New Port Richey, Florida, in 2008. As a vigorous autodidact, I wanted to apply my past research into esoteric philosophy, psychology and sociocultural dynamics to understanding how to apply what I was learning about Masonic symbolism as a practical and effective way of life. This work is the fruit of those efforts.
