First off, we'd like to thank you all for your awesome support for Day Maker. As many of you know, Day Maker is Habitco's first foray into Kickstarter. And it’s been a fun ride, for sure. Bill and I have been amazed by all of your passion and excitement for the product. We love your thoughts and ideas on how to make Day Maker better, and cannot wait to collaborate with you all on other projects coming up.
We’ve been busy these past few weeks. A good kind of busy. Here’s the latest:
1. Hello REMi (coming soon to a Kickstarter post near you).
We have been listening to your thoughts, and one thing people keep asking is "Why two slots?" Well, now we can say one is for REMi.
With REMi, a self-contained dual alarm clock and cell phone back-up battery, everyone can now wake up on the right side of the day with Day Maker, even if you don't own an iPhone. Simply set your desired wake time and your preferred auditory volume. Then press down and you're ready to go.
For a little added functionality, REMi also functions as a portable back-up battery for your iPhone. So when your iPhone runs out of juice, all you need to do is attach it to REMi and keep surfing, or put both away in your bag and let REMi energize your iPhone while it rests.
And though REMi works great with Day Maker, you don't need it to work as an alarm clock or as a back-up battery. It's happy to fly solo as well.
REMi development Status:
We have built a model of REMi and will put up the Kickstarter post once we get final pricing (soon). If you have any thoughts on the design, please let us know. As with all Habitco products, you're a part of the process, so please let us know how to make it better for you.
2. We were watching how Day Maker tracked and faced some hard facts: it might not make its goal.
Habitco is based on being transparent and honest with you. We don't want to promise something to you and have it not happen. So during the last couple of weeks, we have been watching how Day Maker progressed and we have to face the fact that as it’s currently listed, Day Maker may not reach its funding goal.
Though this may sound bad, we don't think so. Day Maker has received a ton of great press, and your passion for the product shows there's a market for it, so all we need to do is make it better.
And we've thought of a couple of ways to make it happen, but we want your input, too.
First off, how about we make a Single Slice Kickstarter listing? Since there's a lot of interest for the Single Slice, let's make a listing for it. We also noticed that though a lot of people liked Day Maker; they just couldn't afford it. So we'll look into making Day Maker cheaper for everyone while making the pledge goal lower. Single Slice is a great way to do that.
And though iPhones are great, we just don't think it's fair to only make it for iPhones. How about we invite the Samsung Galaxy to the party as well? Yep, we're looking to make Day Maker more like Habitco, and be inclusive to more cell phone brands and habits.
So what do you all think? As always, we'd love to hear your thoughts, so please feel free to list them on Day Maker's Kickstarter open forum, or feel free to email me firstname.lastname@example.org
Look forward to chatting soon.
