About this project
In 2010, I had my first children's book published called, Sofia's Dream. It is based on the theme of seeing Earth from space and how that view inspires people to care for earth. For my research I interviewed three Apollo astronauts. My research and book publication then inspired me to accelerate my outreach by founding a non-profit organization called, The Earth View Society.
We are seeking funding for our first project, The Apollo Legacy Project. The idea is to obtain and share with the world each Apollo Astronaut's one statement they believe would most impact others to become better stewards of Earth. The statements will be shared in a free ebook with images from the NASA photo archive. The free ebook will include; prefaces by one or more astronauts and one world-renowned planetary hero, a foreword by Pierre Cousteau, and an introduction by Land Wilson.
It is a tremendous task to produce a project like this particularly because of the work involved at reaching out to all of the Apollo astronauts or their families in the case of those no longer with us.
Your donation helps makes this project possible!
Thank you,
Land Wilson

Land Wilson was born and raised in Marin County, CA. Throughout his life, Land has been drawn to many different forms of artistic expression. Land enjoyed woodworking as a young boy, music and theater in high school, arts management in college, internships with the San Francisco Opera Center, art history studies in Paris, and apprenticeships in art restoration. His interest in writing commenced in college and has evolved over the course of a long career in business. Writing has become his favorite form of personal artistic expression.
Growing up in an area known for its strong environmental leadership, he developed a deep appreciation for nature as a child. Land’s motivation for writing the award-winning book, "Sofia's Dream" (published by Little Pickle Press - www.littlepicklepress.com) stemmed from his interest in environmental protection. He wanted to encourage children to love and respect nature in a deep and meaningful way. He had read that viewing the Earth from a distance was an experience that genuinely transforms a person’s thinking about our planet, so as part of his research he interviewed three Apollo astronauts. These impactful interviews ultimately served as his inspiration to write what would one day become, "Sofia's Dream."
Land is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. His interests include walking, mountain bike riding, escaping to the beach or the mountains, playing with family and friends, and nurturing his vegetable garden. He lives in San Rafael, California with his wife and two children.
