About this project
When five friends who are a family find themselves at a crossroads, forced to deal with a crisis they never expected to face, all bets are off. Everything they trusted and counted on for consistency in their lives is gone. They must confront the actions that have brought them to this place and the history that they all share. With hilarity and heartbreak they strengthen and challenge one another and wonder how they will ever move on from here. Sweet Confinement is a love story. It is also the story of familial bonds you create with the best of friends. It is a poignant story told simply and honestly with humor and incredible candor.

Connected as Sinnerman Ensemble (1032 friends)
SiNNERMAN Ensemble formed from a group of actors that studied together at The School at Steppenwolf during the summer of 2005. For ten weeks we were immersed in the Steppenwolf techniques of ensemble training and emerged with a desire to continue fostering the trust we had formed that summer. As the playwright John Patrick Shanley says, theater is a safe place to do unsafe things. For the past five years we have been doing just that: the unsafe things being relevant, provocative theater with high quality production values and the "safe" place being our ensemble that trusts each other inherently. We want to continue to bring good stories to life, to tell them with humanity and a strong point of view.
