A role-playing game (RPG) is a fantasy game where each player pretends to be some other character, such as a heroic knight, a clever rogue, or a sly wizard. Each character is made by choosing special abilities like fighting, shooting, spell-casting, etc. As the game goes on, each player earns more rewards, and the characters get better at what they do.
Some RPGs are hosted on a computer. A computer RPG is limited by what the programmers could put into the game. If the players want to try something that the program wasn't designed to handle, then their story won't work.
IRONCLAW and THE BOOK OF JADE are a pen-and-paper RPG. One of the human players will host the game. When the players come up with some imaginative story that they want to pursue, then the host can work with them to create an experience as amazing as you can think of!

The BOOK OF JADE is a supplement for IRONCLAW: SQUARING THE CIRCLE. This book is a next-gen update of the "Jadeclaw" fantasy role-playing game to use the critically-acclaimed IRONCLAW rule-set.
With your support, we'll be launching a full-color printed book to hobby stores, game stores, and book stores world-wide. There are numerous hurdles for such a wide launch, such as freelancer contracts, printing costs, registration numbers, and distribution logistics. We've done it before, and with your help, we will do it again!

You will need THE BOOK OF JADE itself, and a copy of the core rule-set of IRONCLAW.
If you want the bare minimum to play, you will need to pledge either "A GARDEN CARRIED IN THE POCKET" (for digital versions) or "A SHUT BOOK IS BUT A BLOCK OF PAPER" (for printed versions).
IRONCLAW's basic rules are available in two different volumes:
* THE PLAYER'S BOOK, which includes the rules for making basic characters and for how the characters interact.
* THE OMNIBUS, which includes all the material from the Player's Book and advanced material on how to play in the land of Calabria, including its greater mysteries, powerful magics, and strange wilding ways.The Players' Book and the Book of Jade together is all you would need to play the game. While the Omnibus includes all the Players' book information, the details of Calabria aren't necessary if you're adventuring in the Middle Kingdom of Zhongguo.
