Session Americana is touring Ireland in July but the gigs barely cover the cost of airfare. Please help us out and buy Session a round.
Please help us fund our upcoming Session Americana tour of Ireland this July. Though we have secured some well paying festival dates, the cost of airfare is prohibitively expensive. We are utilizing Kickstarter to help fund this tour. Not only will this help pay for plane tickets; but also hotels, car rental, gas and supply us with copies of our new cd "Session Americana Live". Our six person ensemble (which for this tour includes the lovely and talented Laura Cortese) cannot travel lightly. Of course Dinty has insisted on bringing the pump organ (you can borrow a banjo in Ireland but a US Navy portable field organ, not so much). Also because of our unique table microphone set-up we are bringing a soundan/driver/road manager named Matt Malikowski. One can only imagine all the baffled Irish sound technicians we would be leaving in our wake, and the increased amount of gray hair on Ry's head from trying to explain our system to each and every one.
The tour begins in Adara, Donegal on July15th at the Nesbitt Arms Hotel with the incredible Henry Girls and continues on to McGrory's in Culdaff with Kate O'Callaghan on the 16th, and then we are at the Balor Arts Center in Balleybofey with old friend Finbar Doherty. For the next two days after that we are performing as part of the prestigious Galway Arts Festival. On July 18th we will perform at Henry's in Galway and on July 19th at Monroe's in Galway. After that the arts funding dries up. We are booking more gigs as we write this, but we will barely be scraping by playing pubs and church basements.
We have mischeviously titled our Kickstarter project "Buy Session Americana a round in Ireland", but it is more serious than that. At this point we are using the funds we generate from local live gigs (and a credit card) to get us to Ireland and supply us with copies of the new CD to sell on tour. Nevertheless in the spirit of the buy Session Americana a round campaign, we think you might appreciate some of the rewards we are offering at the various pledge levels. Thanks a ton for helping us get to Ireland. And don't forget to check our website www.sessionamericana.com for updates.

$10 buys a couple of pints, not really a "round", but thank you very much for going to the bar - and would you grab a bag of crisps? Seriously. Thank you. We will send you either a CD of Diving for Gold, Beer Town, Table Top People 1 and 2, or any of Laura Cortese's CDs.

$250 buys us a white table cloth dinner with a decent bottle of wine, thank you very much. And for that, we will record a live version of the song of your choosing (within reason) and send it to you, as well as the signed CD and the video toast.

After we work out the finances on this one, the band hopefully hangs onto a couple of grand, which is a very generous chunk of change. Thank you. For that donation, we will fly two people to ireland, get them into a show, and take them out wherever we end up after the show. We'd recommend the show in Culdaff on July 16 as we could probably get you a hotel room in the venue and the after party will likely be fun. Plus, Culdaff is fantastic - nice beach, good restaurant, nice walking, touring - you could spend a happy week in Inishowen/Derry.
