SONGS FROM A ROOM: 

SUPPORTING NEW MUSIC IN LIVING ROOMS ACROSS AMERICA AND THE WORLD...

We’re tired of waiting in lines to watch our favorite musicians play in unpleasant or crammed clubs where crowds talk over the band’s set. We want to return music where it belongs—with the people.

So we’re bringing music lovers together in packed living rooms across America and around the world to hear their favorite new bands and solo acts. There’s no cover and no stadium lines. Just music. The result is an intimate and spellbinding environment; people coming together to listen.

How it works:  Hosts volunteer their living rooms – kept secret till just before the event - for an evening where music lovers gather together to enjoy an amazing night of local talent.  Everything is filmed and uploaded for all to see on Youtube, Facebook, our website and anywhere else we can spread the word to help put a spotlight on the bands. At the end of the night, the crowd passes around a hat to help with basic costs, but otherwise everyone involved does it for free, for the love of music.

Music is global and so are we – aside from U.S. cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Houston and Washington DC, Songs From A Room (http://flavors.me/sofarsounds#92b/vimeo online) plays to packed living rooms across London and Paris and soon spreads to San Francisco, Sydney, Berlin, Pune (India) and more!

All this attention makes a real difference to the musicians that play – many gain a following they did not before have, get booked to festivals and big gigs, find management or sponsors interested in supporting them.

Now you can help return the music industry to its grass roots.  You can help us take this movement on a 10 city American and Global tour where we film and live stream each gig ourselves. You can enable us to reach a worldwide audience.  Help us help the bands from around the world, and help us make music history.  To do this we need $20,000 to pay for flights, cars, equipment transfer, camera rentals and other basic logistics.

We do this for the love of music:  100% of what you give goes to support the careers of the artists.
