Photographic tribute to Darby Creek; a coffee-table book about the best remaining free-flowing stream in central Ohio.
Darby Creek, located in west central Ohio, is a unique remnant of the wilderness from 200 years ago. In 1991, The Nature Conservancy declared it one of the dozen “Last Great Places” in the western hemisphere. Although it is heralded for its biodiversity, it is also a living classroom of ecology and the natural sciences. It is a place for vision, renewal, and enlightenment. I began photographing the Darby Creek area two years ago with goal to produce a coffee table book entitled “A Glimpse of Darby Creek: One of Last Great Places.” I have posted some of my progress on the book project to my blog (www.darbycreek.blogspot.com). The Kickstarter project will allow me to produce a print-on-demand copy of the book (from an online publishing company such as Blurb.com). After producing this “artist’s proof” of the book I will seek a corporate sponsor for the book, with hope that the story about Darby Creek can become available to the general public at an affordable price.
