We are passionate and dedicated filmmakers looking to raise funding to make a truly inspirational and motivational SAG independent feature film about overcoming some of the greatest obstacles life can deliver.
Inspired by true events, Namaste is a drama / romance about a compassionate workaholic doctor, who must overcome her emotional unavailability after experiencing personal tragedy. She dedicates her life to helping a patient acclimate to losing his hearing and overcome the obstacles he faces dealing with a new way of life. When family becomes involved, love meets conflict and loyalties are put to the test. All will discover that dreams can still become a reality, despite hearing limitations, and that anything is possible when you learn to hear with your heart.
Namaste shares deep raw emotion and genuinely depicts human triumph! Please help increase deaf awareness and inspire people to overcome limitations and fight to make their dreams come true, by pledging anything you can to the film "Namaste"!
We plan to budget our monies from Kickstarter and other outside sources extremely wisely to produce the highest quality independent film possible. How? Who Are We?
Chase Films, LLC is a limited liability production company whose mission is to produce motion pictures that help increase public awareness about important causes. We do this by sharing moralistic, inspirational and motivational messages, educating, sharing stories based on true events, bringing strong female characters to the screen, while refreshing the true spirit of filmmaking through sincere, honest and great story-telling.
What Are We Doing?
We are moving past the traditional ways of funding films. We are looking to involve the public (yes, wonderful and generous people like you, who want to help make a difference in our world) in raising the funding to make this film. Namaste is a truly inspirational and motivational story that we feel needs to be told. We are trying to make a huge difference by increasing deaf awareness in the most respectful way through Namaste. We also want to spread the message to all, that people should not put limitations on themselves or give up on their dreams for any reason.
What Do We Plan On Doing With The Money You Pledge?
We plan to budget every single dollar of the funding we receive extremely wisely to produce the highest quality independent film possible. We will be using named actors for two of our leading roles and an experienced, top quality crew. We have to wait for funding to be delivered before we can make offers to actors; however, we will make those names available as soon as we get commitments. We will also use funding for top quality post production and marketing. An American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter will be hired to be on set working with the actors for the entire shoot.
However, to get all this done, we are counting on the kindness and generosity of people like YOU! Any pledges given to help this project get off the ground will be momentously appreciated!
Why Are We Doing This Project?
Producer, Dr. KC Kelly is an extremely passionate filmmaker, dedicated to making a difference in the world through film. For the past 15 years, she has been studying sign language, deaf culture and has been involved with the deaf community. Dr. Kelly's wish is to help inspire and motivate, plus educate that deaf people can do just about anything they want, in the same way that hearing people can do just about anything they want. Silence should never be a limitation and Namaste strongly attests to that fact! The film is an honest and sincere look at the emotional journey a man faces after becoming deaf, but how he also overcomes the obstacles he faces, to make his dreams a reality.
Life is all about self-confidence, having the passion, ambition and drive to make things happen for yourself. Chase Films, LLC is dedicated to making this film because it is important! It is necessary! Everyone needs to understand their value and self-worth, despite any limitations! Please help in this cause by pledging what you can to Namaste.

When Will We Be In Production?
We can’t say for sure yet, as that depends a lot on YOU. Depending on your generous pledges, we hope to be in production Summer 2012. We want to shoot 75% of our production during the month of June, to be eligible for the extra 5% tax incentive money (along with the 20% that is offered) from the state of Florida. Plus, one of the named actors on our wish list is on hiatus from his television show during that time. We want to tell you who he is; however, we have to have his commitment first. Unfortunately, that takes money. (But we’re going to try to get him as soon as we can – and when we know – you’ll know).
Can You Pledge And Give The Reward As A Gift To Someone Else?
YES! What a truly kind thing to do! If you would like to pledge money for our film, but give the reward to someone else, that would be great too! You would still need to pledge the money as if you were going to get the reward yourself, but then email us at info@namastethemovie.com and give us the information needed to send the reward to another person. What a nice gift to us and to someone else. All from you. Thank you!
When Will You Get Your Reward For Pledging?
Just as soon as our pledging date comes to a close, if we have gotten all our funding (or more), we will immediately begin giving out the rewards that were promised, and we look forward to doing so!
Can You Pledge Money And Then Decide You Want To Give More?
ABSOLUTELY! YES! Once you pledge money to our film, you can always give more if you want. How? You need to go to Kickstarter and sign in. On your page, you will see that the green “Back This Project” button has been replaced with a blue “Manage Your Donation” button. Click there and make a bigger difference. We can’t thank you enough!
What Happens If Our Asking Amount Has Not Been Met By The Closing Date?
We will be extremely unhappy campers. Unfortunately, if our goal isn’t met, we will not receive any funding (your credit card will not be charged) and our film will not be able to be produced. That is why we count on you so much and why every dollar counts towards meeting our goal. We want to avoid losing all money pledged because we didn’t reach our goal by the deadline! Yes, we want to avoid that disaster at all costs, so please pledge what you can, and besides knowing you've made a huge difference and receiving some great incentive rewards (see right side bar), you will also receive our boundless gratitude!
What If We Get More Money Than We Asked To Get?
We’ll cheer and clap and celebrate! Kickstarter allows us to get as much money as people will generously pledge to us before our deadline date. ALL money (aside from Kickstarter fees and Amazon fees for your credit card payments) will be put right into our film and will make things easier for us in the long run. What does that mean? See the next question.
Can A Top Quality Film Be Made For Only $75,000?
That’s a very good question and my answer is: Some films can and other films cannot. Namaste is seeking named talent and experienced crew, which requires a larger budget. Therefore, we are happily using Kickstarter in hopes of surpassing our $75,000 funding goal, and will also be seeking additional funding from other sources to make Namaste a reality. Anything received in excess of our Kickstarter funding goal will be cause for celebration! We must start by reaching our goal; however, as that is imperative for film pre-production to begin.

As a filmmaker and owner of Chase Films, LLC, which was founded in 2008, Dr. KC Kelly’s goal is to adhere to the highest standards in writing, producing, completing and delivering first class, moralistic, highly marketable feature film presentations.
KC possesses a Bachelor’s Degree, a Master’s degree and a Doctoral degree, all in the field of psychology and is a screenwriter, producer, filmmaker, SAG actor, author and journalist.
KC has a vast amount of experience acting on sets for films and has worked with such powerhouses as Michael Mann and Oliver Stone. She has done over thirty-five commercials, including an ESPN spot with Mr. Burt Reynolds and an international spot with Ms. Cindy Crawford. KC produced, directed and acted in her first film short in 2008.
KC has trained with Burt Reynolds at the Burt Reynolds’ Institute for Film and Theatre, HB Studios and TVI studios in New York City and Dov Simmens’ two day film school out of Los Angeles, California. KC trained with casting directors in South Florida such as Ed Arenas from Unique Casting and Lori Wyman from Lori Wyman Casting and at Florida Atlantic University.
