About this project
It’s 2013: Guy Backman is an extremely enthusiastic and focused physics major at the top science school in the country. During the day he wants nothing more than to go to class to learn from his new, world renowned professor, Dr. Victor Hughes. At night, he chooses to be studious, despite the objections of his worldly, fun-loving roommate, Ted, who tries to encourage Guy to have balance in his life, be social, drink, and chase girls. This proves to be a challenge for Ted, until Alison, a beautiful girl, walks into Guy's physics class. Still, Guy tries to remain focused. Why? Because Guy is obsessed with time travel; he wants to build a time machine.
And that's when the unimaginable happens. Guy is visited by his older self from thirty years in the future, who warns him of future events he must prevent from happening. This visit stirs up numerous questions for Guy and those closest to him. It also challenges the morality of time travel, and raises the question: are there parallel universes where events can be changed, or is everything self-consistent and already set? It'll keep you guessing until the very end.
Trust Us is going to be a very fun film with romance, friendship, betrayal and suspense. We want YOU to back our film.
WHO’S INVOLVED IN THE FILM?
Robert Smithline is the writer of the screenplay and will direct the film. Sitting in the producer's seats are Curtis A. Smith Jr. and Nicky Arezu Akmal. You can read more about each one of us by clicking on our names.
The cast attached to this film so far are Billy Baldwin, Cody Linley, Adam Gregory, Adrianna Bremont and Marie Osmond. It's pretty amazing.
Adrienne Stern of Stern Casting is casting the film. Michael Fimognari is the director of photography who will shoot the film, while production designer Mary Frederickson will design the look.
OUR GOAL FOR THE FILM
Simply put, we want to get this film made, then get it in as many theaters as possible. It is a film that asks a universal question: If you could dictate your future by changing your past, would you? Should you?
