A phone mount that keeps up with your busy life -- Hands Free.

PerchMount is for people who want to use their phone hands-free in multiple places. Now you don't have to set up a mount every time you get in the car, every time you play the drums, every time you do what you do. Just attach the small base mount once, and perch your phone every time you come back.

Check out the above 3 minute video.

The Idea

The PerchMount is a smart phone mount and stand that consists of two parts, the Perch and the Mount. The Perch is flexible, rubberized plastic that adapts to almost any phone size. We haven't tested every single phone, but we've tried a lot. The smallest we tested was the little iPod Touch and iPhone 4S. The largest tested was the wide Galaxy Nexus, the bulky BlackBerry Bold, the thick Galaxy Epic 4g with slide-out keyboard, and the massive Motorola Droid Bionic with case. They all passed the shake test.

The Mount is the small base station that you can mount permanently or temporarily to almost any surface. Fix the Mount to the wall (or table, handlebars, instrument... any place you can think of). Then you can mount your phone to the wall just by sliding the Perch into the Mount like in the video.

Each PerchMount will come with 1 Perch and 3 Mounts in solid black.

How PerchMount Started

While working on a different project, Marc came up with a radical design that looked cool, but didn’t work. Although he still liked it, he threw it out. Meanwhile, Spencer was experimenting with a rubber coating, and tested it on this discarded prototype. He noticed that any size phone and iPod fit securely into this rubberized, thrown-out, flexible mounting bracket. And the PerchMount was born.

From here, the two of us started brainstorming all the different places we could use this mount to Perch our phones…and never really stopped.

Marc uses his PerchMount anytime he finds himself setting his phone on the ground -- ie. when playing the drums, cooking, or working out. It keeps his phone safe and close by.

Spencer Perches his phone on his bike everyday on his way to school and work, he Perches it on a table during a conference call, and in the car for GPS navigation.

We Need You

But how can other people use it? We currently print the PerchMount on a 3D printer and hand them out to people, but that's not good enough. We need to get the PerchMount out to a lot of different people. Fortunately, we have good contacts who know how to manufacture a product like this, but it's expensive. Like $10,000 expensive.

We thought about it and connected the dots -- users, funding, manufacturing, publicity -- Kickstarter. So we are coming to you, Kickstarter, for help.

We need your help in two ways.

1. Help us spread the word to everybody

  •      a. Those who make music
  •      b. Those who ride bikes
  •      c. Those you work with
  •      d. Those who have iPhones, Android Phones, Smart Phones, iPods...
  •      f. Those who use their phones for everything

2. Help us make the PerchMount

  •      a. A pledge of any amount will help.
  •      b. Take a look at our awesome pledge incentives.

Why We Need Support

Kickstarter funding will build the molds for injection molding and purchase the necessary materials for the rubber coating of the PerchMount.

We are very grateful that you are taking the time to checkout the PerchMount. Don’t hesitate to make suggestions. Let us know all the different places you find yourself using the PerchMount. We hope you use it as much as we do!

Cheers!
Marc and Spencer
