ROOM 237 is a subjective documentary feature exploring numerous theories about Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining” and its hidden meanings.
Thanks to some real angels, we have reached our goal. We thank you and are touched and thrilled by the wonderful folk who reached out to us. Your rooms are booked for an extended stay at the Overlook Hotel!
If you would like to contribute to our project, we could still use the help. Our little two-man operation has had to grow exponentially and, even with the great favors we have been given, costs continue to rise. We would appreciate any contributions. And we look forward to sharing this film with you.
ABOUT ROOM 237:
For the last year, we have been talking, thinking and watching Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining.” We’ve also been interviewing some of the people with the most interesting theories about what this film is really about.
The product of all this is ROOM 237, a subjective documentary feature. This guided tour through the most compelling attempts to decode this endlessly fascinating film will draw the audience into a new maze, one with endless detours and dead ends, many ways in, but no way out.
We are honored to be have been accepted into the Sundance 2012 Film Festival.
Our film has been a two-man production working on a shoe-string budget until now. We are jamming to finish the film in time for our deadline. Our production schedule has been accelerated and we need to finish the score, mix the sound, complete the effects and a myriad other post-production concerns before the festival.
We need help. If you can contribute to our project, you will receive our undying appreciation. We’ve also come up with some fun incentives in the form of rewards.
Thanks to all!
Rodney Ascher and Tim Kirk
