About this project
We're preparing to shoot a short film called "The Terrain." Kickstarter is a great way for you to join in helping us in the process from the ground up.
Contributing to the campaign will give you an inside look, through updates and rewards, at the filmmaking process from the first days of fundraising through the shoot days to post production and the festival circuit.
The rewards have been chosen as a special thank you to anyone who is willing to chip in. Kickstarter allows you to not only chart our progress over thirty days but also is a quick and easy way to alert any friends who may be interested in the project.
Please take a look at our video and this Kickstarter page to see what we are about and feel free to e-mail us at theterrainfilm@gmail.com if you have any more questions!
About the Project
"The Terrain" is a narrative short film written by Brian Durkin and starring Todd Cattell and Marisa Petroro. A story about two friends and fellow soldiers who return from war, broken and vulnerable, and are recruited into a covert assignment in Los Angeles. Receiving orders from an unknown source, with no contact from the outside world, they are left to themselves to complete mission after mission. As one man begins to question what they have become, the other holds the next order in his hands.
"The Terrain" is a story about men forced to confront the broken parts of themselves as they try and find a new path in a world forever altered by what they have seen and done.

How does Kickstarter work?
Kickstarter is an amazing way to support a film and filmmakers. It brings people from all backgrounds together to help fund artists and creative projects that interest them, involving them in the process and bringing the worlds of audience and creators closer then ever.
All payments are processed through amazon.com's payment services. Your donation will not be processed UNTIL the end of the thirty day period and ONLY if we hit our goal.
That's the most important part. "The Terrain" only gets funded if we reach our goal of $2500. Even a dollar less then that and no donations are processed and the film does not get funded!
The project can always accept more then the amount of $2500 but anything under and there is no funding.
What will the funds be used for?
The funds raised on Kickstarter will go to financing our shoot. That includes locations props, costuming as well as hiring a professional crew to make this film as great looking as possible. The funds will also go towards post production, editing, creating dvds and towards festival submission fees.
I only have a dollar
A dollar is a great donation level. Every buck counts and you will become part of a team from the ground up. If we reach $2499, your dollar will be the one that helps us reach our goal. Remember, all or nothing, so one dollar short and the film doesn't get financed!
How else can I help?
The most valuable thing you can do is participate. That means simply hitting a Facebook "Like" or following the film and its creators on Twitter. You can also copy this link and send to any of your friends you think might be interested. The world might be more and more connected but it still takes passion and action to make things happen. Yours is deeply appreciated.
