My name is Stan Reese and I am the Dad to five kids age 3, 5, 6, 24 and 26. I raised the first two as a single Dad and I am raising the youngest three as a new Dad over forty with the help of my wonderful wife.

I had to learn how to cook the hard way: through trial and error. Many of my earliest recipes were included in my first book, the self-published "Relax Dad, It's Just the Kitchen". That book taught me a lot about publishing and public relations. It taught me that it it takes time, effort and money to get a good book "out there".

My second and third books, "50 Recipes I Can Cook With My Son" and "50 Recipes I Can Cook With My Daughter" are not only about cooking for your kids but it's also about building relationships with them. Backyard baseball is great but if you can provide a family meal with your kids, you have helped them accomplish sizable task. This accomplishment will live in their minds for years and the experience will help them to be a better parent to their kids.

These books, like the first, will be self-published. They are due out in September, 2012.

I feel very strongly about the role a Dad plays in the family. That is why I have written these books. As a man, I had an uphill battle raising my first two kids on my own but It worked out well. They are now happy, healthy members of society. My oldest daughter is a college graduate and my oldest son attends college but he is also a member of the Army Reserve. He is about to embark on his second tour of duty. I took pride in raising them. I am proud of the adults they have become.

As a new Dad over forty, I still do most of the cooking around the house. My three youngest kids constantly volunteer to help. I love to see the pride in their eyes as a simple recipe becomes a masterpiece in their tiny world. I believe it will make them better people as they get older. It sure does make me a better person.

I am looking for funding to pay for the initial cost of printing the books, ordering and shipping the books, promotional materials for the books, advertising and then, hopefully, distribution of the books.

My regular job is in accounting so I have closely figured the cost of printing, marketing and distributing these books. For one thousand copies of each book, I have figured the cost at just over $12,000. That's $6.00 per book. This should be enough to get the books recognized and in book stores by Christmas. Maybe some Dad somewhere will get a copy for Christmas and his New Year's resolution will be to cook more with his kids in 2013.

I do believe the children are our future. I also believe that their future depends on Dads to help them learn and help them grow. These books are my gift to the future of our world.
