WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS FILM!

Hey Kickstarter, my name is Igor, and this summer, I’m writing and directing a short film called Lover’s Dream.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The movie centers on a guy who is stuck in a nightmare. Everyone around him is telling him he’s in some sort of exaggerated reality, but he doesn’t believe them. Suddenly, little eerie and strange things, things that only happen in dreams start to happen around him and he starts to seriously question whether he’s experiencing reality or whether he’s in a fantasy.

WHEN/WHERE WILL THE FILM BE SHOT?

Cameras will roll by the first of August. Shooting will be done in parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan.

WHO ARE THE CAST AND CREW?

As of now we have not casted the film yet, however there will be auditions taking place throughout July to find the perfect cast. We are in the process of recruiting a Director of Photography and other key members of the production crew.

WHY SHOULD YOU DONATE?

There are tons of movies and other really worthy projects on the internet that are in dire need of your support, so why should you hand over your hard earned cash to this project? I’ve always believed that movies are a collaborative effort. The credits might say “Directed by Igor Yankilevich,” but in reality the movie is going to be made by a large number of people. Everyone is key to the production – actors, crew, and of course, you guys out there.

I think Kickstarter is an amazing modern day tool for artists and anybody who wants to create something and expand our knowledge of the world that surrounds us. And that’s the goal, to be a part of that community that creates, and expands people’s minds through filmmaking. I believe that this film will achieve that goal.

WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO TO?

We have raised some money but not sufficiently enough to pay for each member of the crew that we will require. We will need to pay for a cinematographer, lighting and grip, production assistants, sound mixer, and other key members of the production staff.

The best part is that you get something in return for your pledge, and it’s more than just a hug and a kiss and a big thank you. No, even if you pledge just $5, you’ll get something substantial in return. We’re offering DVD’s of the completed movie, a visit to the set, a Producer credit on the film, two free tickets to the premiere at a film festival, we’ll even name a character after you.

On the right hand side you will see the incentives earned for your pledges. Every dollar we raise helps us reach our goal of $2000.

WHY THIS FILM?

I’m fascinated by dreams and nightmares. I don’t believe that concept has ever been fully attacked in movies and that’s why I’m making this film. Inspired by some pretty good filmmakers like Kubrick and Lynch, Lover's Dream will mix properties of dark romance and fantasy/mystery. It's part Bukowski, part Twilight Zone.
