Our project

When we started thinking about this project, we were about to graduate. At a crossroads of uncertainty, we have decided to step back and explore a question that humankind has been asking itself since it could emote: what is happiness? After writing papers and placing points on a curve for two years, we want to answer this question in a creative way. We hope that this will not only contribute to our own personal journey, but also to a shared experience with those who we meet and those interested in the project, like you. 

Through this question, we want to discover how people living in the USA understand happiness and where they find the thrill to live. We will make a collective portrait of stories about happiness which will be compiled and edited into a documentary. Join us for this trip and help us find what deserves to be shared!

What you are funding

Your contribution will fund a rental car, gas money, and material needed to film and edit the documentary. We will cover accommodation and sustenance costs by living frugally.

Along the road we will share interesting tidbits of our trip via a blog, Twitter, and Facebook.

We invite people that we cannot see along the way to post a video on our YouTube channel about what is happiness.  Upload your video by sending it as an attachment via email to: jgc623lk4ivx@m.youtube.com

It will be uploaded automatically to the Route 2 Happiness video channel. We will select the most evocative pieces and include them in our final documentary.
