Long Beach Cinematheque once again brings a series of film classics to the shores of Long Beach, FREE to the public!
Once again Long Beach Cinematheque has been given the fantastic opportunity to program a lineup of Monday night summer drive-in/audience favorites right on the beach, FREE for the Long Beach community!
The good folks at Alfredo's Beach Club will once again be bringing family favorites to the beach on Tuesday nights (congratulations on TEN YEARS of Moonlight Movies on the Beach!) and are generously providing the use of their massive inflatable screen, outdoor digital projector, and surround sound system to pepper their series with Monday night classics! Plus they've also invited us to program some titles for their family-favorite Tuesday night films as well (including Goonies, Wizard of Oz and Willy Wonka, of course!). Since all these screenings will be free, we need the help of fellow film lovers and community enthusiasts to cover our studio and production costs!
In celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the Greatest Summer of Movies Ever, we're kicking it off with 1982's Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan on Monday, July 2nd!
This summer our programming also celebrates 70 years of Casablanca, 35 years of Annie Hall, 30 years of E.T. The Extra Terrestrial, and we even threw in a brand new celebrated classic - Martin Scorcese's Hugo - fresh off its five Oscar wins! We're still working on another couple of titles to round up an awesome summer of movies, but for now, here's this year's lineup!
