Kickstarter

We are the Crane Wives, a folk band from Grand Rapids. We recently finished recording our first album, a twelve-track CD entitled, "Safe Ship, Harbored." Now it's time to send the CD out for duplication so that we can share it with our fans! (*Waves* Hi fans!) That's where you guys come in!

Duplication, packaging and shipping expenses cost $1000 to cover 1000 CDs! That may not seem like much, but bands typically don't make a whole lot of money at shows, so we've had to save all of our pennies for these expenses, and that doesn't even cover mastering and album art! 

We also would like to make t-shirts for our CD release show. How cool would it be to have CRANE WIVES T-SHIRTS?! The sooner we restore our band bank account, the sooner we'll be able to offer cool merch! Shirts are our first priority, but after that, who knows?! There has been talk of buttons, stickers, VINYL! These things are all very high on our priority list, but with all of our money going to making CDs, there is none left over for other merchandise right now. 

So we're asking for your help. Now, we know some people have asked about pre-ordering the album, so here's your chance! This will ensure that you get a copy on the night of the CD release! (You wouldn't want to miss out if we run out, would you?)

Here's how it will work: if you donate $10 to our Kickstarter project, we'll have your name on a list so we can hand the CD over to you at the CD release show on May 12! If you can't attend the CD release show, that's okay too! We'll get the CD to you some other way, whether it's via mail or in person! If 100 of you purchase the album in advance, we'll meet our Kickstarter goal! Remember, we don't get any of our goal money if we don't meet the goal...but that doesn't mean we can't go over itl! If we surpass our goal, we will be one step closer to spoiling you with Crane Wives merchandise in the future!
