Kickstarter: Thank you all for your AMAZING support. This exceeds our wildest expectations and we are thrilled by the response to the Porthole.

We had a plan for a $ 50,000 stretch goal... but reached it so fast we didn't have a chance to add it on. So I felt it made sense to simply include the first 'stretch' in the project specs -- all Portholes will get a flexible silicone cap to seal the contents for longer term infusions.

We are adding two stretch goals:

1) At $175,000 we will include a sample tea blend from the Rare Tea Cellar that is used at the Aviary in Chicago.

2) And a big one: At $ 300,000 -- a real stretch -- we will include a pair of aperitif glasses custom designed and manufactured just for this project. We have already begun working on the design and contacted the glass company to see if the lead times could be short enough to include them... and it appears it can work. These will be a great add on and we hope we can make it!

In terms of what's next, we anticipate that molds will be ready in 4 weeks, along with new fit and finish component samples. That's when we anticipate the unexpected, unforeseen, to surface and require troubleshooting. Since the kickstarter campaign will be over then, we will also know what will all be included in the package so we will be able to move onto the kickstarter edition packaging design and, knowing the volume of pre-orders, we'll also start making fulfillment arrangements to prepare for the entire kickstarter edition landing. My original plan of shipping a couple hundred Portholes from our studio clearly won't work.

On the subject of fulfillment. We don't know your location or shipping address. Amazon doesn't actually share that information with us so we will send a survey at the end of the campaign asking for your shipping address. If you ordered a non-standard set of multiples or pledged an amount that doesn't match up with the pledge level and shipping, you will be able to communicate your intent at that time.

On the kickstarter project page, we added a short video of the Porthole cocktail prepared at the Aviary and a couple of Nick's home use tips.

      Will there be a set of glasses to go with each Porthole, or just one set per backer? I did the 375 pledge for 5 Portholes for family members, it would be great to have a set of glasses for each Porthole!

      Although I love the stretch goals, including tea will be a potential problem for shipments sent to Australia. They dont even bother taking the organic goods out of the parcel, they just destroy the whole thing. Please keep this in mind. Thanks

      Anyone who pledges enough for a porthole will receive 2 glasses if we get to $ 300,000 or greater. The silicone cap is already being included for everyone... and the tea will be included if we get to $ 175,000. So everyone gets everything once the goals are met.

      To follow up on Michel's comment: What is the minimum pledge that will net those three stretch goal rewards? I assume all recipients of a Porthole get the silicon cover. Do all receive the other two as well if goals are met?
