I received mine in Phoenix today (5/21). I was backer 616. First impression - the box is like a clown car... Things just keep coming out when you think there's no way it is all in there - It's expertly packed. Second impression - the porthole itself is gorg & heavy and the recipes look great. Third impression - I'll be a drunk little skunk this weekend.

The funny/weird/sad thing about my Porthole order is that I got it expecting it in October as a Christmas gift for a friend. It didn't come.

But JUST now got a notification that it was delivered and is at my front door.

Today just happens to be the birthday of my friend that the Porthole is for.

That's some kind of timing.

I ordered 5. You launched on 8/7/12. I pledged on 8/15/12. I sent in my survey last November. I updated my address in February. We're now halfway through May of 2013. I didn't get an email so I guess I am not in wave 2 so it will be a few more days? weeks? months? another year?

Give us a realistic timeline.

"Our 2nd wave shipment was delayed due to logistical issues. The warehouse is assembling the kits now and is scheduled to ship this wave on Thursday. If you received an address update email from us in the last two weeks then your Portholes are in this wave. You will also receive a separate tracking notice from UPS."

I don't know how many Australian backers there are, but I for one would be more than happy to forego the tea to ensure safe delivery of the Porthole itself.

Hi Martin,

The only way you are going to be able to bring the Tea into Australia is if you ship them bulk in via an importer who can make the appropriate declarations and treat them if required. Even then there is a very high chance that the tea will be seized and or destroyed, plus risk that product may get damaged in the process.

It will be physically impossible to get the tea into the country if you send them in individual packages direct to the recipients.

Please contact me if you want to clarify, I work for Australian Quarantine, my Program will be the ones seizing the tea :-(

Even though I received an email on Sunday (April 28th) asking if I needed to update my address (said to update no later than Monday May 1st).....I still have nothing.

@Liza - if you were one of the folks who received an email notice about a week ago to confirm your shipping info, then you might have it before this weekend. If not, then I think it is highly unlikely that you will get one in the current batch of shipments.

They are sending them out in batches every few weeks, and from the rate so far it looks like it will be mid-year (at least) before all of them are sent out.

Hi guys, so its been 8 months since the project got funded and i'm still very excited to get my 2 portholes, problem is, I did not get an email and its beginning of May. Is there a way to at least know an ETA for the delivery? I was supposed to give it as a present for Christmas. Let me know.

Y'all must be sooo tired of this project. It has taken a little longer(!!!) than we all thought it would. Maybe patience is the lesson...hurry up and have poor quality or wait and fall in love with some functional art. I'm waiting, patiently (mostly). Hang on there! Thanks for buffering the frustration for us. If someone wants a refund, I'd be happy to pay for 2 additional sets!

I was watching a taped Bizarre Foods America last night (love that show), and spotted a Porthole cameo. It was the "Chicago's Cutting Edge" episode that first aired a few weeks ago (http://www.travelchannel.com/tv-shows/bizarre-foods/episodes/chicagos-cutting-edge), in the segment about Next. It's a very short cameo, but I was watching for it since I knew that Next and Aviary are both owned by Grant and Nick who both appear in the kickstarter intro video.
