About this project
"Memphis" is a poetic (and interactive!) tale mixing elements familiar to the comic-book world, but with moving picture panels! The first step in this phase was to select the right actors, write the script, design and storyboard the whole thing...Already Done! ...phew... Then next stage of this project to make it truly interative is to bring to the touch device platform. What happens if you touch a comic book panel? -In "Memphis" it comes to life!
How it will work:
The point is, some pictures while interact with the reader, some wont. It's the element of surprise that we're creating to be more of a full-immersion experience. The point is, with the help of my development team we're creating "smart panels" so that if you touch an object or panel, you'll view streaming video. Want sound and music to the comic? We'll have that too. However, after reading this first installment of "smart" comics you might want to read your touch device with the lights on. :)
Why fund our smart comic? Here's why:
Because it's cool, smart and edgy...And a whole lot of people will want OR have already wanted something like this.
It will just take a lot of interfacing and programing and with the help of touch devices developement technology and some high-end editing software, we'll create the prototype to this "smart" comic.
Why Me to make something cool like THIS:
Well, I did work on two features right out of film school. The first one "The Gene Generation" was released by Lionsgate and the other one "Necromentia" was sold at Cannes (Best experience of my life!) and is being released by Image, planning to hit DVD shelves and Blockbuster this fall. What's cool about the second feature is that clips from "Memphis are peppered in it. -So that's pretty cool.
What's also cool:
This will be the first episode in a web series inspired by the works of Dario Argento (The Italian Hitchcock) and The Master of Suspense himself. -So whether or not you buy the finished "smart" comic, you enjoy watching the video version online.
