Update #33: Our First Review
Hey guys,
I know things are getting a bit quiet now, the book is now out and the storm seems to be over. Ein and I are carefully contemplating the schedule for the next issue, we're waiting for a lull in her schoolwork so she can start thumbnailing soon. I'll let you all know as soon as things are more in control.
Meanwhile, enjoy this lovely review posted at Comicbuzz (it's been up for almost 24 hours but I only noticed it today): http://comicbuzz.com/recipes-for-the-dead-1-review
Again, thanks to you all for believing in Recipes for the Dead, Ein and me. We appreciate all the love and support that poured in and cannot express our gratitude enough. You are all amazing and we love you!!
With love,
Vera and Ein
Update #32: Comic Con and Locational Updates
Bonjour mes amis,
Comic Con is now over! It was absolutely insane this year, some of you might have noticed the crowding a little bit. A couple of you found me and got your hands filled with cookies and your comic, but if you didn't find me, don't worry! Your books are on the way - I mailed about a quarter out last week and I'm mailing the rest of them this week.
Other RftD locational updates: London MCM Expo will have the books on hand- so if you're around the area, go ahead and say hi to Negshin, who'll be running the booth in my stead.
And if you're in the tri-state area in the US, New Jersey's A&S Comics is the first comic shop to take on Recipes for the Dead- so we're officially in stores!
Btw, although we're not going to APE in San Francisco this year, I would like to tell you that a pretty cool magazine called F*X*T is unveiling its inaugural issue there. It features some wonderful artists and a helpful interview for comickers. If you're there, show some love and crowd around the F*X*T booth.
Here's a photo of the RftD Dark Delights with Cranberries taken by a very awesome friend of mine, Gina Asprocolas, whose photos you can also find at her flickr here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ginacrat/. There are some great ones of NYCC inhabitants... check them out!
with love,
V & E
Update #31: The Books are Here!
They are finally here! The books have appeared on my doorstep and I was so excited to go through one to see how it reads. All I can say is that Ein did a gorgeous job on the art, I know you guys saw it already in the pdf version, but it's even lovelier when it's in a physical book. I'm certain you will all love it at first sight!
Comic Con is this Friday, so I will be a flurry of activity all week - baking Annika's forbidden Dark Delight recipe, assembling the cookie packaging, signing and packaging comic books for my Kickstarter comrades, and otherwise running around doing all the little things (printing out order forms, attaching tags to my messenger bag, etc.) In the meantime I will leave you with some photographs of the gifts you may be expecting soon. (My camera self-destructed a little while ago due to being built by the ancient Mesopotamians, so I'm sorry for the less than lovely quality pictures - the necklaces have an almost 3-D effect that I couldn't catch on my cell phone camera, I'll try again).
Ciao for now!
Update #30: Just confirming everyone got their PDF
Just letting everyone know that the PDF has been emailed! If you haven't received one, email me at vera@greenteapublishing.com (<--check out the pretty new email) or comment here! But seriously, I want to make certain everyone got theirs!
Thanks!
V!
Update #29: Recipes for the Dead: Cover
Update #28: First Page Preview
Update #27: Website
Comrades!
I finally have a website! It will be tweaked a million more times, but hey, it's functional and it gets the word out. I will eventually add a public blog to it as well for a compendium of news for all things Recipes for the Dead, so stay tuned for that too!
Webpage: http://greenteapublishing.com/gallery/products/1
Updates: Necklaces are ordered and are being created one by one as I write this. Book pages are practically done, will be going through a stringent process of proofreading one more time and then the real action will begin. PDF and webpage will be created! The file will go off to the printers (I'm aiming for end of this week)! We're almost there, guys!
Tell your friends, tell your cat, tell everyone :)
xoxo,
Vera
Update #26: Necklace Busts
Update #25: Recipes for the Dead Teaser
Update #24: Cookie Packaging Sample
Hello, dearest friends,
While Ein is chained to her desk and chair with pages and pages of RftD performing the dance steps of a hurricane, I have been working on packaging samples, label designs, and practicing baking for the ones of you that will hopefully make it to Comic Con. I will definitely be there Friday and Saturday (October 8th and 9th) and more than likely on Sunday, October 10th. Here's the information:
Jacob K. Javits Convention Center
Neighborhood: Midtown West
655 W. 34th St.
New York, NY 10001
212-216-5000 (Convention's phone number)
I will probably be milling around at the marketplace area (where everyone is selling their wares), but depending what the traffic looks like, I'll try to be closer to the door of the marketplace.
You will need tickets if you don't have them yet, and you can go to their website (http://www.newyorkcomiccon.com/) to find out how to get them.
I leave you (for now) with a picture of a cookie in its prototype packaging :)
With love,
Vera
Update #23: Eric is Triumphant
Hello awesometastic people!
I still can't believe how far we came! I stole this triumphant and exciteble picture of Eric straight off Ein's blog (which by the way, you can and should find right here: http://www.einlee.net/top.html because she's a brill artist and has lots of pretty things to offer)! Scroll down for it!
Thanks again, everyone, we couldn't have done it without you!! Whether you are a beloved contributor, a word-of-mouth expert, or just a super encouraging fan, you are all very dear to us and we are grateful to our last breaths to you!
Btw, if you have just discovered us but want to keep tabs on us, I will continue to update the Kickstarter blog with non-backer related posts as well as the backer ones. You can comment here or email me at vera.greentea@gmail.com and I will absolutely get back to you. Ein updates her blog and her deviantart (http://einlee.deviantart.com/) with information as well. At some point I will converge all the information together into its own place on the net- stay tuned.
We did it!! And will continue doing it!

I'm Vera Greentea and my dream is to create art and help others create art. Currently, I'm working on a comic book series called Recipes for the Dead as well as other writing projects. One day soon, I hope to be able to produce other people's comic books.
