Wow, you guys are brilliant bits of sugar! Due to your sudden bouts of awesome kindness, we have hit our goal very fast! Thank you all so much!

A few of you dolls asked if I would have a stretch goal - notes and messages poured in asking for it - well, really, how can I say no to any of you? Thus;

I've created my first Stretch Goal, and upon hitting it, my first gift to you guys shall be revealed and blessed by the eerie Calavera Catrinas (skeleton girls).

If you  enjoy Halloween cult classics like The Nightmare Before Christmas or Hocus Pocus, you're going to adore Nenetl, of the Forgotten Spirits.

Nenetl, of the Forgotten Spirits is a spirited horror story about a ghost searching for her family during the festival of the Day of the Dead, while dodging ambitious exorcist apprentices. Vera Greentea (Recipes for the Dead, To Stop Dreaming of Goddesses) and talented artist Laura Müller (Mega Man Tribute, Subway to Sally Storybook) collaborate to create an autumn-friendly tale of skulls and hope. The first issue introduces the vivacious but forgotten ghost girl, Nena, as she explores the labyrinthine streets of Mexico during its most eerily evocative celebration and Bastian, the first of the exorcists speeding after her – completely for the wrong reason.

This wicked comic will be drawn and colored by the inspiring color-genius Laura Müller, who has lots of wonderful practice drawing nefarious ghouls of all sinuous shapes and sizes.

Our Plan

This Hallow’s Eve themed Kickstarter project is up until Halloween, and during this time we hope to gather $4,000 to pay Laura for art on the first issue, while offsetting some of the usual production expenses, Kickstarter/Amazon fees, and postal service costs. This money will go towards the creation of this 16-page, full-color and standard-size comic. Any extra will help further fund the some of the next three issues - all of which together will create one graphic novel. We will be working hard to finish the first issue's art by mid-December, so that production can be completed towards the end of December. However, anyone who donates at least $5 will receive the comic early - before it reaches the printers.

For $1: I am giving away a PDF of my comic, Recipes for the Dead: Issue 1 immediately. You'll find it in the very first post. I hope you enjoy!

For $30: One of the elements of this gift is the skull bracelet. I fell in love with these bracelets, and am creating three similar kinds that will be unique to the story of Nenetl.

As a gift for donating $50, you can also choose any 2 out of three of these single issue comics (which I've made previously). They are: Recipes for the Dead: Dark Delight with Cranberries; Recipes for the Dead Issue 2: Apricot Asylum; and To Stop Dreaming of Goddesses.
