SYNOPSIS
THE SEA IS ALL I KNOW is a powerful film. When estranged couple, Sara [Academy Award Nominee Melissa Leo] and Sonny [Peter Gerety], come to the aid of their dying daughter Angelina [Kelly Hutchinson], the experience sends them spiraling into spiritual crisis, and emotions they do not understand. In the end, an act of selfless love, renews their lives, transcends their loss of faith, even death itself -- it is a testament to the strength and resilience of the soul.
PRODUCTION NOTES
Shot on the Red camera for 4 days with a bare bones budget, the production of THE SEA IS ALL I KNOW was a magical collaboration and depended on many things going right, most especially it depended on the love of the story and the heart, soul, and sweat of the cast and crew. The ambitious schedule challenged every individual involved, but all rose to the occasion with a unified commitment under the leadership of director Jordan Bayne to make sure this story was given its best opportunity to be told. You can feel the love of those who made this film in every frame. The actors championed this film, especially Melissa Leo who came onboard 3 years before, and she nurtured this film on set with a generosity of spirit that was an inspiration to all. The other enormus factor in the making of this very independent film was the participation of so many who grassroots funded this project, and who supported us in a thousand ways and ultimately gave life to THE SEA IS ALL I KNOW.
THE FINISHING FUNDS
THE SEA IS ALL I KNOW is currently in post-production. With the help of a great many donations in our early fundraising stage principle photography was completed in June 2010. And while the majority of the cast and crew worked on this project for reduced fees or for free becaused they believed in the film, we do need financial resources to support this film in the post production phase and the festival stage. We are currently seeking to match the quality of production in post production. [Although quite honestly our sound designer, Brian Scibinico won an Emmy two weeks ago....I am not kidding about the talent on this film].
We hope to continue in that magical spirit and raise a minimum of $10,000 to help us finish our movie. There are considerable post production expenses . The support that we receive on Kickstarter will go to a number of talented artists, as well as to outputting the film to an HDCam Master for exhibition in film festivals around the world. In addition to this we are looking at costly marketing expenses.Your donations will go to materials and labor including: artwork, website design, printing promotional materials, etc. as well as festival submission fees and many more details. All necessary parts of supporting a film.
As of today we have submitted a work in progress to The Sundance Film Festival and we will be submitting to many others such as Berlin, Tribeca, Sedona, Hamptons, Venice, etc .
I hope that you will be interested in supporting this film and that you will tell a friend. The beauty of Kickstarter is that we can cut out the middle man and come together as a community and make things happen. You don't have to wait for your friend to get a "break" .
