About this project
On Feb.10th and 17th toUch performance art will present it's show AcousticaElectronica at Club Oberon in Boston, MA. At this show we will be releasing our first EP!
An ultimate dance party, on the fringe of two worlds- an addictive music, art and dance immersion.
AcousticaElectronica blends the virtuosity found in the classical concert hall with the infectious energy of the late-night dance club. The best of both worlds: artistic depth and irresistible appeal. At once: sexy and classy, sensuous and stoic, irreverent and reverential. Bach meets a dance club back-beat, Chopin meets trance, Carmen’s habanera and Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata are blended with house for a listening experience unlike any you have ever heard before. Dancers and aerialists blend ballet, jazz, modern and improvised movement to reinvent the "go-go" dancer. Music, dance and art combine to create total ecstasy...
In our live performance, we are bringing Boston's five hottest DJ's into one room! We will be joined by DJ's: The WIG, Mike Swells, David Day, George Vala and Randy Deshaies, for the hottest dance party to hit Boston in 2012.
The project combines some of Boston and New York's best talent- we have 2 doctoral candidates and a graduate of the Master's program at the New England Conservatory, 2 graduates of the Boston Conservatory, and professionals working at the American Repertory Theatre. Our dancers have danced with major touring companies and have recently appeared on Saturday Night Live!

Equally sought after as performer, composer and pedagogue, guitarist Colin Thurmond has performed for the premier of a Nicholas Cage film, classical music with members of the Berlin Philharmonic, electronic music collaborations with The WIG and jazz with electric six-string violinists. He is currently Artistic Director of toUch performance art.
