About this project
After a year of thinking, planning, writing and being used as a creative vessel, a selected group of awesome Bay Area musical artist and I have completed my poetry CD "No Country for Honest Womyn". This is not my first CD, however, I am making it my very first professional CD.
The No Country for Honest Womyn DVD has also been a year in the making and was not intended to be related to the CD in any way. However, the feeling of the DVD compliments the CD so well, I respected it's nature and married them under the same name.
So much intention, professionalism, and successful energy has gone into this project. It speaks so uniquely and I am so excited for it's birthday!
Here's where YOU come in!
This last step requires your financial assistance. I am asking you for a generous donation of $3 OR MORE.
EVERY CENT donated will go towards
- The professional mixing and mastering of the CD
- The professional Copyright of the CD and DVD
- The professional printing of the CD and DVD
- The professional packaging of the CD and DVD
AND
- The MOST AWESOME CD and DVD Release Celebration!
I realize money is hard to come by now-a-days so I DO NOT take any amount you give lightly. Pass this along to someone who has enough to give and tell them you believe in me and this project it's all giving so it's all appreciated. Thanks for being a part of this project. It means so much to me.

Connected as Joyce Lee
Joyce Lee is the 2009 and 2010 Oakland Grand Slam Champion. She has been a performance competitor since she won 2nd place (in the nation) for the Martin Luther King Jr. Oratorical Contest at the ripe age of eleven. Joyce Lee has visited all over America, toured the East Coast and continues to perform frequently in the Bay Area with the jazz band she is a part of. Joyce has performed at Yoshi's of San Francisco, Oakland's First Annual Pride Parade, Oakland's Annual Art & Soul Festival, and San Francisco's Boxcar Theatre in the Vagina Monologues to fund for Womyn's shelters in Haiti. Joyce has been featured on 106 KMEL Street Soldiers and is NPR's most frequented LIVE storyteller. Joyce is often described as powerful, bone chilling and blunt - but one thing is for certain, Joyce Lee IS any and everything except easy to forget.
