I.    "The Serpent Fire"

This feature-length documentary will explore the many ways in which human beings apply their mind to a given subject, what compels them to do so, and why concentration is essential to human evolution.

To approach these topics I will show people using their minds to practice different things and interview them in order to get a broad range of perspective on such topics as: the mind, focus, learning, living, the creative urge, spirituality, awareness and God.

The title refers to the intelligent energy which animates all life and compels it to create, concentrate, learn, propagate and evolve.  Often this force has been symbolized as a coiled serpent - in the Indian tradition it is called "The Serpent Power."  Here the word "fire" is used in place of "power" to describe the burning desire to learn.

This film will boil every pursuit of knowledge down to some form of concentration of mind.  There will be sequences that are visually abstract, artistic and yet pertain closely to what people are discussing. This is a documentary, but it will also blend narrative and experimental elements and in that way - it is an experiment in cinematic form.

This project, my first feature film, is already taking shape.  I am very excited to explore the creative energy of existence through the medium of film, a medium which touches people on unconscious levels - one that deserves to concern itself with the spiritual dimension of existence.  I firmly believe that it is everyone's natural birthright to reach for our higher human potential - by that I mean awakening the capacities of the brain, as well as creating more and more harmony in ourselves and others.  These are topics which I intend to approach in my films.
