About this project
LIGHTER is a dark comedy about Roman Clower, a fat comedian who's tired of being fat and funny. But sometimes you can't help who you are, or how you are...or even where you are...no matter how hard you try.
LIGHTER is about image versus identity, and what a man will do to try to change himself. It's funny... I promise.
This is our second feature film. We shot our first (SOLID COUNTRY GOLD) on location in South Carolina and it won several awards and found a large audience. We intend to continue filming in South Carolina, and we want to maintain the intimate style of filmmaking that made our first feature successful.
We can do a lot with a little money. This is a good story and we're putting together a talented cast.

Ronnie Gunter is a writer/director from the foothills of South Carolina. He received an education in film working as a grip/electrician under the venerable Chunky Huse. Since 2006 he has been working hard to capture the South rarely seen on screen. After prison, Ronnie will reside in Blue Ridge, South Carolina.
