Marion....I am sorry to learn your campaign did not reach its goal. Knowing you though I imagine you will find another ingenious way to finance that trip. You go...girl. Cheers!

Update #2: Last Quilt

Posted on June 29, 2011

Did all the applique work for Downtown and need to make a few final adjustments.  Now am working on the final piece about the 70's.  Here's a photo of work in progress.  It has been fun looking at old photos of me with my Afro and bell bottom pants.

As a fun surprise I saw a television program about Lithuania and it was great to see images of Vilnius which had lots of interesting art.  Remain optimistic about this venture but the fund raising is going slowly.  If you have suggestions to really kickstart this thing, let me know.

Update #1: Day 5 and Counting

Posted on June 21, 2011

Thanks to all my backers for your support for this project.  I appreciate your prompt pledges.  I am now quilting Downtown, the piece documenting what it was like to shop during the 50's an 60's in the segregated south.  I'll have this piece finished this week and will continue working on the next piece about the 70's when I wore bell bottoms and my big "Afro".  I say I've had every hairstyle a black woman could wear.  But that's life isn't it.

If you haven't made a pledge yet, please press the pledge button and join the group so I can thank you too.

Thanks again and I'll include more photos next time.  Be sure to ask your friends to pledge to the project so I can reach my goal.  It is all or nothing.
