Hopi Breton is a sculptor and Professor of Art at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, Ca. She received her undergraduate degree in history from Loyola University; New Orleans, and an MFA in sculpture from Montana State University. She has also worked at The Crucible in Oakland, CA and been active in national cast iron art conferences including the Western Cast Iron Art Alliance, and Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, Alabama. Her own work includes performance art, installation, and conceptual craft -oriented sculpture. With a 15 year background in teaching and creating work in Foundry arts, she has recently shifted to researching and employing more sustainable foundry art practices. Hopi has also previously curated several other exhibitions.
