Hey Everyone-- one more quick update before we depart for the playa!

Disorient's DEX is getting its Potty On! We're excited to announce that the Disorient DEX will be rocking the Bathroom Beacons Playa Party on Wednesday, August 29, with DJs Big Daddy (PEX/Big Puffy Yellow) and Big Jawn (PEX). We'll be rocking it out from 4 til dusk (or later) at the Toilet Bowl on the 9:00 Promenade. We hope you see you there!  The latest party updates are on our Facebook invite, link below.

Help run the Toilet Bowling Lanes! Speaking of fun at the Toilet Bowl: Would you like to help run the Towel Bowl Lanes? For those of you who will be on the playa this year, we're looking for volunteers to help run the Toilet Bowl on a short evening shift. Our goal is to create a full bowling experience, so we are looking for volunteers to help us re-rack pins, run the shoe checkout counter and manage the crowd. Volunteering is very sexy, and so is bowling on the playa, so imagine the two together! If you would like to help on the playa, please fill out the form below. First Words Audio Preview! Don Owen finished the audio editing on his flight from NYC to Reno, and put together some of his favorite recordings of people asking the question, "Where is the bathroom?" in different languages. Enjoy!

Hi everyone!  A few updates for you:

Playa Party! If you'll be attending Burning Man this year, please join us for our official Bathroom Beacons celebration at the Toilet Bowl on Wednesday, August 29 at 4pm. We're still working out details, but we'll have booze, music, and of course, bowling! We'd love to meet our supporters, so please be sure to stop by, dance, and bowl a frame or two.

You can get updates on the party and forward the invite to friends on our Facebook invite.

Building update: With the Burn starting less than two weeks away, we're putting the finishing touches on everything!  The NYC-based beacons shipped out on the NYC Container Saturday without a hitch (photo of the NYC Container below). And Owen is pleased to have his kitchen back, now that the blacklight reactive globe and LED panels for First Words (photos below) are done and on their way.

And on the west coast: The Thrones of BRC are nearly complete! The walls are almost all assembled, the shade is packed, we're toying with the software daily, and we've (mostly) figured out all of our logistics to actually get it there! Looking forward to meeting most of you at our on-playa party! Here's a sneak peak of it up in the window for all the revelers of Outside Lands to enjoy after the festival. Just over a week and we'll be getting dusty with the real thing!

Hello, everyone! The Beacons will be lighting up the pottys in just 30 days! Are you ready? We've been busy sawing, cutting, nailing, painting, and programming away on the Beacons, and I wanted to give you an update on a few things.

1) Building: We had two massive NYC build weekends in early July, and finished the construction of the Toilet Bowl sign, and the central column and LED frames for First Words. Tracy has been busy gathering the necessary good for a bowling lane (or two!) and I've been putting the LEDs in the panel frames and constructing the globe for First Words. In SF, the Thrones team has ordered their LEDs and are at work pulling everything together!

2) Bowling: Our NYC Toilet Bowl-a-Thon is coming up this Sunday evening at The Gutter in Williamsburg, Brooklyn! It's going to be a blast-- we have some awesome teams participating, a full bar, and some great music for your dancing pleasure. PLUS! It's not too late to register to bowl! I hope you'll join us to celebrate and bowl if you're in NYC! For more details:

3) 501c(3) donation receipts: Due to a horrendous terrible awful administrative oversight, we neglected to ask if you wanted a donation receipt for your taxes when we sent out the rewards surveys. So, if you donated $25 or more, and you live in the USA, we'll be enclosing one with your reward. If you did not request a reward, or donated less than $25 but still want a receipt, we'll happily send one your way. Just email me your address at don@donland.net.

Without a doubt, we are going to reach our funding target!  However, the Kickstarter covers only about a third of our budget, so please keep spreading the word.  We also have some fabulous rewards remaining, so it's not too late to up your reward level. ;)
