Action! Theatre Co. presents West Coast Premiere of Eric Simonson's acclaimed adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's classic anti-war novel.
Action! Theatre Company's third season is already underway after our smash-hit production of William Shakespeare's "The Tempest"! Our second production, the West Coast Premiere of Kurt Vonnegut's classic "Slaughterhouse Five", adapted by Eric Simonson is slated to open on September 23 and we need help getting it up and running. Funds raised will support venue rental, design and marketing expenses. A!TC is dedicated to supporting and providing a home for artists and audience members in Hollywood and this production will be a lynchpin in our continued success.
Based on Kurt Vonnegut's classic novel, "Slaughterhouse-Five" introduces us to Billy Pilgrim, a man who becomes "unstuck in time" after he is abducted by aliens. In a plot-scrambling display of virtuosity, we follow Pilgrim simultaneously through all the phases of his life. Concentrating on his (and Vonnegut's) shattering experiences as an American prisoner of war who witnessese the firebombing of Dresden, this satirical and horrifying anti-war story carries a unique poignancy - and humor.
Action! Theatre Company, a member of Los Angeles Stage Alliance, has produced 5 plays in the last 3 years and has been the recipient of two Backstage West Garland Nominations (Best Director - "Cartoon" and Best Adaptation - "R.U.R."). Help A!TC bring this West Coast Premiere to Los Angeles audiences this Fall.
