What is cuckoobean and how does it work?

My project is a craft kit for kids called cuckoobean. I have developed six "pals" kits. It's an activity that is engaging both to kids and adults: the child can assemble the pal, with or without adult supervision depending on the child's age, and use his or her creativity to make the pal unique. Once their pal is complete, the adventure begins. The child is encouraged to give the pal a name, take a photo of the pal doing something fun, and a caption or a short story. The child (with help from an adult) then sends the information and photos to cuckoobean@yahoo.com, and it will be posted to the cuckoobean blog at cuckoobean.blogspot.com. Your child can then find other pals and their stories from around the globe within the blog. My goal is to these kits into the hands of kids and help them imagine, create, participate!

It's a great way for kids and adults to be involved in a fun project that has lots of benefits. Kids are able to:

• use their hands, develop motor skills
• follow instructions
• use their imaginations and express themselves creatively
• connect with other kids in an online community and share stories
* multiple submissions from the same child allowed and encouraged *
* ideal for birthday party, school activity, or unique gift idea *

How will the funding be spent?

Your generous financial backing will enable me to bring my kits to the public on a larger scale and dedicate more time to enhancing the blog by offering monthly contests for categories such as "Most Creative Pal Photo" or "Most Imaginative Pal Story" with fun prizes like pal accessory packs or free cuckoobean merchandise. I would also like to develop new features for the blog that kids can follow on a regular basis, including updates about a particular pal's activities, polls, or quizzes to encourage kids to follow the adventures of their pals.
